Once upon a time, a little girl with big dreams set her heart on becoming a storyteller. While many of those dreams have become a reality—like raising two amazing grown sons and running a successful portrait photography business—there’s one dream that has consistently alluded me: becoming a children’s book author.
My journey began back in 3rd grade, when a friend and I embarked on a grand adventure to co-author a book. When she moved away, so did my writing ambitions. But like any great story, the plot thickened. A college creative writing class rekindled my passion, and I penned several chapters of a mystery novel. Yet, as life unfolded and I stepped into the “real world” of work and responsibilities, that manuscript was set aside.
The birth of my first son reignited the spark, and I tried once more to weave my story into existence. However, juggling the demands of a newborn, while attempting to find the time and energy for writing, felt like an impossible feat. The timing always seemed off, and the tools to help me bring my vision to life just weren’t available.
Then, a magical moment arrived this past January when I stumbled upon a Facebook post about writing a children’s picture book. It felt like the universe giving me a nudge. I seized the opportunity and partnered with a hybrid publishing company that offered the support and encouragement I needed.
And here I am. Thrilled and excited! Ready to embark on this new chapter of my life with all of you! I know the road ahead will be filled with challenges, but the thought of holding my published book and sharing it with you—my family and friends—makes every step worth it.
Thank you for joining me on this incredible journey. Here’s to finally turning my dream into a reality!
Warm Regards,
~Wendy
